Howie Jacobson and Glenn Livingston both have Ph.D.’s.

They are both brilliant marketers.

And they are both super cool, really nice guys.

These two are the only ones I ever want doing my PPC campaigns.

Check out this recent video:

Thank you.

One of the greatest things we have ever done
is mind mapped all of our enterprises on one page.

I have to thank Sergiu Simmel for this idea,
after he talked about it on a teleseminar call
with Alex Mandossian.

After Mind Mapping every single iron in the fire we had going,
I burst out with laughter at the absolute ridiculousness
of what was happening.

That happened in 2008, which led to immense “pruning”
of business “ideas” and “projects”, and really got us focused.

Our time right now is currently being spent on our business,
which we have Mind Mapped below:

The Heart of Marketing | Dr. Andrew Colyer

The first live seminar I ever went to that was specifically for Internet Marketing was in Anaheim California, at  Stu McLaren’s Idea Incubator in February 2006.

I tend to sit towards the front of the room at these seminars, so that I can really focus on the speakers and take good notes.

Across the aisle from me was a couple who were asking a lot of questions, and it was obvious from the questions that they were asking that they were real thinkers who cared about their clients, and that they weren’t here to just find out how to make a bunch of money.

It was obvious that this husband and wife team was used to actually having relationships with their customers, and that their interaction with them was NOT, as one “guru” has put it, “to extract as much money as possible from the wallets of their customers”.

I wound up having dinner that evening with Alex Mandossian and some other high-level business people and marketers, and wound up sitting across the table from Drs. Judith Shervin and Jim Sneichowski.

I found out that this wonderful couple had both been practicing psychotherapy for many years (hence the relationships with their clients), and they only lived about an hour from us in upstate New York!

Over the years, Melanie and I have gotten to know Judith & Jim quite well, participating in their “Soft Topic Copywriting” course, and spending time together with them socially.

We all agree that many people in the Health Care field, or other “soft” business fields like artists, don’t benefit from trying to use “hard-sell” approaches for their customers.

Not only does that “hard-sell” method not work for our type of customers, it actually offends many of them, and seeing that type of advertising sends them running in the other direction.

If you are a practitioners in the healing arts, an artist, a business person who has real relationships with your customers, or someone who just doesn’t like the “old-school” method of “beating people over the head with your marketing”, then you need this new book on the subject of soft sell marketing.

I am proud to endorse and highly recommend Judith & Jim’s new book, The Heart of Marketing.

Thank you.

P.S.  Melanie and I will be speaking/presenting our new course, “Muscle Test Your Marketing, at Judith & Jim’s Bridging Heart & Marketing Conference in October!

The following excerpt is from Perry Marshall’s recent article:
Grooving in the Uber-Productive Zone

There are three kinds of work that you do:

1) $10/hour work – stuff like mailing letters and answering trivial emails and making coffee and filling your gas tank and cleaning your desk and making copies and running errands.

Yuck. A BAD day is a day spent doing all that and nothing else.

2) $100/hour work – talking to customers on the phone, answering important email, fixing stuff on your website, researching new products; delegating.

3) $1000/hour work – strategic planning and prioritizing vital tasks; writing persuasive copy; split testing elements in your Google campaigns and website; refining your Unique Selling Proposition; automating your business; developing customer follow-up; nurturing important relationships; actively sharpening your gifted skills.

Your first job is to do as little of #1 as humanly possible, finding any way possible to have others do it.

Your next job is to make sure you get at least a few hours of dedicated $1000/hour work finished every single week; that #2 does not cheat #3.

If you act like your time is worth $1000/hour, sooner or later reality will catch up. But you must be ruthless about it. This will offend other people but you must not let their immaturity or petty demands stand in your way.

Back to the Uber-Productive zone: Very, very little of what you do ON THE INTERNET is ever $1000/hour work. At best it’s probably $100/hour and a lot of it is NEGATIVE $10 per hour. You must not let the time vampires get the best of you.

Your most productive time probably starts with a pen and a yellow pad of paper – far away from your computer – where you plan your work before you work your plan.

Once you have habits, structure and technology in place that puts you in the $1000/hour zone at least 1 day a week, the pressure comes off and the Uber Productive zone becomes a jet stream of doing your own special magic every day. It’s not work anymore, it’s a joy.

I’ve just finished the first three modules of the course, “PPC Classroom.”
It’s run by Anik Singal, with whom I’ve done “Blog Classroom”,
and a really smart guy named Amit Mehta, who has a Ph.D. in Physics.

PPC Classroom 2.0

If I’m going to have to learn something about Internet Marketing and Google AdWords and PPC,
I want it to be from someone who’s waaaayyy smarter than I am.

PPC Classroom 2.0

Someone who went from making zero to $2.4 MILLION in three years.
Figuring it out for himself.

Someone with a PH.D. IN PHYSICS.

PPC Classroom 2.0

I HAVE to promote this course!

If you are looking to get started with an online business,

or want to improve the online marketing you are already doing,
keep reading, or just click on the link below:

As you may or may not know,
after practicing here in Upstate New York
for the past eight years, I recently sold my practice
and retired from the office.

One of the reasons I was able to do that was because
Melanie and I are moving into teaching and training,
with the Internet being our main source of clients
and business.

Two of our health care and business colleagues,
Dr. Judith Shervin and Dr. Jim Sniechowski
(collectively called “Judith & Jim”),

are hosting their second “Bridging Heart & Marketing”
seminar in Los Angeles next month.

This seminar is going to be great!

Even if you just want to get some information
about Internet Marketing, or want to expand your knowledge
for your existing Internet-based business,

they are hosting Preview Calls with all of the speakers,
For F.R.E.E.!

Melanie and I heartily endorse Judith and Jim,
and their “Bridging Heart and Marketing” seminar series.

Check it out!

Thank you.

I’ve been going to live seminars since I was 11 years old,
when my parents got heavily into Amway.

All throughout junior high school, most of the kids were home
watching “Love Boat” and “Fantasy Island” on Saturday nights,
and I was at seminars and rallies and soaking up the
“motivational speaker” energy.

That translated into 100 hours of Post-Graduate continuing education per year
in the field of Health Care, as well as a passion for knowledge.

I have been to countless seminars in the past 30 years,
and it’s often common for people to have no sense of people skills
whatsoever, and be completely oblivious of others around them,
especially when they are “excited” about something.

Internet Marketer and Online Entrepreneur Keith Wellman
has some tips on how to BEHAVE at live events:

10 tips that will be helpful to you while attending a live event…

1.) Set goals for yourself before attending the event.

2.) When talking to someone new, ask them non-business
related questions as this will open them up and make
them feel more comfortable around you…

3.) If someone is in the middle of a conversion, do
not interrupt the conversation or butt in mid sentence…
Just wait till that individual has a free moment to
introduce yourself…

4.) Buying a drink for someone can do amazing things :)

5.) Do some research on the speakers… Know who is
going to be there and what they have going on…
It is great to look up the speakers on facebook, twitter,
squidoo, or myspace to find out about their personal lives
and interest… These findings are great conversation
starters…

6.) Be Prepared… (business cards, notepad, laptop…)

7.) Have a positive attitude and be someone who you
would want to approach.

8.) If you have a product, bring a few copies, however, don’t
push it to hard. Focus more on planting a seed and building
a relationship first…

9.) Be memorable and be sure to make a lasting impression…
(Take pictures with people you meet… When you follow up
with people you can send them a copy and ensure that
they remember you :)

10.) Follow up – after the event be sure to contact
all the new connections you made letting them know you
enjoyed meeting them…
